After breakfast drive to Rongai for registration. The trek begins at the quaint village of Nale Maru (1950m) and winds through fields of maize and potatoes before entering the pine forest. First camp is at the edge of the moorland zone (2,600m) with extensive views over the Kenyan plains of Tsavo and Amboseli 3-4hours walking today. Overnight moorland camp. FB
